Job Summary
Senior Fleet Technicians must be experienced and capable of independently performing routine and complex diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, inspection and servicing of cars, light-/medium ***/heavy-duty trucks, and off-road construction equipment in a safe, efficient, and quality manner. Senior Fleet Technicians work and communicate well with others and are self-motivated, task oriented and demonstrate sound decision making tendencies.

This position is located in Price, Utah

Additional responsibilities may include:
Performs routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
Performs complex repairs on vehicles, motorized construction and other work equipment including electrical, mechanical, and fuel systems, Including Compressed Natural Gas Systems(CNG)
Repairs and maintains CNG compression and dispensing equipment;
Mounts, toolboxes, welding equipment, generators, and compressors;
Performs minor Fabrication and Welding Tasks;
Preps vehicles and equipment for service and disposal;
Provides assistance, coverage, advice, and solutions to co-workers;
Completes necessary data entry and records of work performed;
Manages and cultivates internal/external supplier relationships;
Controls garage stock and supply levels;
Maintains garage in clean and orderly condition;

Minimum Qualifications Education:
High school diploma and 5+ years of directly related experience; or
Military Service Members/Veterans ranks E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3 and 5+ years of directly related experience.
Directly Related Experience includes: repair and servicing of passenger and light duty-trucks, medium- to heavy-duty trucks, and repair and servicing of off-road/construction equipment as well as alternatively fueled vehicles and equipment (where applicable)

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of: advanced knowledge of gasoline and diesel automotive, motorized construction, and work equipment theory and operation; knowledge of natural gas vehicle (NGV) technology, automotive related computer applications including fleet information systems, and basic math.
Ability to: work independently with minimal direct supervision
Adhere to applicable policies and procedures
Service, inspect, diagnose and repair automotive and construction equipment
Distinguish the nature of sounds to determine if equipment is running correctly
Acquire within a reasonable timeframe a commercial drivers license (CDL)
Use repair equipment such as diagnostic and electronic testing equipment, welders, torque wrenches, drills, grinders as well as hand & power tools such as hoists, saws, wrenches, and hammers
Respond to emergency conditions, which may include (CDL)
Use repair equipment such as welders, torque wrenches, drills, grinders as well as hand & power tools such as hoists, saws, wrenches, and hammers
Respond to emergency conditions, which may include changing flat tires or chaining up vehicles in on- and off-road conditions
Operate a two-way radio; and communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Possession of own hand tools.

Preferred Qualifications
Eight years experience as a Fleet Technician or equivalent;
Vocational/trade school certificate in automobile or light-/medium ***/heavy-truck maintenance;
Automotive/vehicle maintenance certification (ASE or equivalent for automobiles, light-duty trucks, or medium to heavy-duty trucks, alternate fuel vehicles, etc.);
Advanced knowledge of electrical, computer, hydraulic, fuel, and exhaust systems as well as power trains;
Ability to operate range of vehicles from automobiles to light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks as well as construction equipment such as backhoes and forklifts and manlifts;
Possession of current and valid CDL.

Education Requirements
High School Graduate or GED

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
May need to possess, or to acquire within a reasonable time, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
