Overall Position Summary and Objectives The purpose of this position is to support the Division of Facilities Stewardship for the NIH - (National Institutes of Health) by fulfilling mechanical engineering duties. The objectives include: Analyze and inspect mechanical systems and products to develop root cause analyses. Study mechanical and plumbing drawings to provide recommendations. Evaluate product quality by testing system capabilities. Prepare deficiency reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing existing conditions and trends. Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects and interact with various divisions.

  • Survey existing conditions report and provide a written deficiency report on areas of improvement/ findings. - Monthly
  • Troubleshoot mechanical system or product hazards and provide subject matter expertise to peers and other divisions on repair, renovation, or new construction projects. - Ad-Hoc
  • Provide a written report on activities completed and currently working on - Monthly
  • Provides executive experience needed to conduct needs assessments and develop recommendations for improvements of current operations.
  • Collaborates with other professionals to develop recommendations for current and future initiatives.
  • Advises management and staff on formulation of new strategies and sensitive or complicated issues.
  • Works with staff to develop and implement new and proactive programs geared to specific audiences.
