POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: This position is responsible for increasing the effectiveness of the Portfolio and Project Management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and toolset by providing process and tool support to all groups within the organization. He/She will serve as a senior mentor/coach in Agile development principles and methodologies, working with teams and junior analysts to measure and drive continuous improvement in their ability to deliver high-quality software solutions using rapid, iterative development. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Serve as a Scrum Master for one or more Scrum teams or as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) for a team of Scrum Teams when necessary; have the ability to perform and coach junior team members on all of their duties. Coach leaders, teams and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile leadership, helping to reinforce and help the team embrace Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Core Values and implement SAFe practices. Engage in challenging the old norms of development to improve performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow and velocity. Act as a team facilitator for all meetings, including Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review and Iteration Retrospective, System Demos, Solution Demos, synchronization meetings, including the ART sync at the Program Level and the value stream sync for Solution Trains. Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and a Backlog through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings. Coach teams and junior analysts in the ability to teach problem-solving techniques and help the team to become better problem solvers for themselves. Mentor and coach others in how to establish normalized estimates and help the team understand how to estimate Features and Capabilities. Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and Solution Train and help them improve. Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Release Train (ART) and Solution Train using various tools, such as the Program and Solution Kanban and other information radiators. Exhibit Lean-Agile leadership, helping to reinforce and help the team embrace SAFe Core Values and implement SAFe practices. Engage in challenging the old norms of development to improve performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow and velocity. Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs). Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives (the RTE) and publish them for visibility and transparency. Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities. Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics where necessary. Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the DevOps and Release on Demand competency. Understand and operate within Lean Budgets and ensure adherence to Guardrails. Support the ongoing maintenance of the project management methods and tools that are used as the standards within Herbalife. Escalate issues to PMO manager as needed in a timely manner. Provide primary administration and user support for PMOs Application Lifecycle Management tools Manage large enterprise-wide projects when necessary. Ability to travel domestically or internationally 10-15% of the time SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Skills: Demonstrated ability to achieve results under limited supervision Ability to effectively manage multiple, competing, high-priority projects with varying deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization Ability to interact effectively with individuals from different countries and cultures, with a sensitivity to cultural diversity Team Foundation Server Application Lifecycle Management or related application and administration expertise (5+ years) Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications Independent follow-through ability (attention to detail, monitoring and controlling) Experience as a Scrum team member, preferably as a Scrum Master or as a Release Train Engineer Effective public speaking skills Experience: 5+ years demonstrated experience in the Technology/IT Industry 3 years demonstrated experience in project management and software development methodologies Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: MS Project, Primavera, Clarify or other Project Management tool expertise 2-3 years working within a Program/Project Management Office 3 years of application implementation experience Certified Scrum Master Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Project Management Professional certification Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
