Position Title: LPT Service Rebuild Technician 
 
Job Description:
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, service, repair, and test high speed machinery.
  • Build new high speed machinery parts, subassemblies, and assemblies to factory specifications.
  • Travel to spray drying facilities in North America to inspect, troubleshoot, service, and repair high speed machines.
  • Travel to spray drying facilities in North America to provide customers with maintenance training for high speed machines.
  • Travel internationally for training and service as needed.
  • Write clear and thorough inspection reports and field service reports for internal and external use.
  • Provide accurate estimates of labor times to complete rebuilds and testing for high speed machines.
  • Balancing wheels in house on dynamic balancing machine.
  • Work with lathe, drill press, manual milling machine, etc to manufacture and/or modify parts for high speed machines.
  • Work with precision measuring instruments for measuring parts, tolerances, clearances, run out, etc of parts and assemblies of high speed machines.
  • Work with chemicals and cleaning solvents associated with high speed machine repairs and rebuilds.
  • Paint rebuilt and / or new parts in house for the assembly and rebuild of high speed machines.
  • Understanding of 3 phase industrial power, high voltage and motor wiring and / or frequency drives, as well as Delta / Y motor wiring.
  • Support various on-site service interventions for GEA spray dryers, in general.
  • Travel up to 50%.
 
Educational Background
 
  • Machinist certificate or Associate Degree or relevant machinist experience.
  • 10+ years of hands on experience in a machining, manufacturing, or relevant equipment repair position.
 
Professional Knowledge and Experience
 
  • Experience operating a lathe for the fabrication and modification of machine parts.
  • Experience operating a manual milling machine for the fabrication and modification of machine parts.
  • Experience operating dynamic balancing equipment.
  • Experience with mechanical repair and service work.
 
 
Other Skills and Competencies
 
  • Fluent in English both verbally and written.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Ability to read and understand instruction manuals, assembly drawings, and machining drawings of machine parts.
  • Self-starter / works with little direction or instruction.
  • Service minded
  • Ability to work in groups, and independently. Proficient with Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
