***Department is looking for someone with clinical admin background. They will be helping with answering calls, emails, electronic faxes, working in epic to respond to families, send out letters, and ideally scheduling patients***
The Clinical Coordinator will work within the Mitochondrial Medicine Frontier Program (MMFP)alongside a team of coordinators, physicians, genetic counselors, nurses, and more. The coordinator will work with the team on all aspects of patient related services within MMFP.
. Collaborates with clinical team to:
Collaborate with relevant departments regarding MMFP clinic, referrals, and scripts
Ensure record review, organization, and upload of record; triage patient appointments based on the clinical staff recommendations, and ensure smooth functioning of MMFP clinical service under limited supervision
Communicate regularly with staff
Answers all phone calls for the MMFP; returns all messages in a timely manner
Collaborates and supports the MMFP genetic counselors and physicians to support patients and families seen through MMFP
Maintain schedule for attendings out of office in EPIC
Performs intake of social needs of patient, and organizes resources to address needs
Is present during weekly staff meeting as necessary to assist with providing coordination of care
Organize and scan mail documents for the clinical department
Communicate and scan faxes received.
Assists with patient care coordination:
Coordinates with financial counselors office acquisition of appropriate insurance referrals and entry of that information into EPIC.
Ensure families receive the appropriate information regarding: social needs assessment, insurance decisions, laboratory out of pocket, and approval/denial determinations.
Communicates regularly with parents, assists in coordination of care and appointments
Arranges interpreters and work with social work to arrange transportation for families who require such services
Communicates regularly with parents, assists in coordination of care and appointments
Organizes and scans all relevant documents into medical record
Ensures that all reports, labs, and other paperwork are available for MMFP appointments
