Position Overview:
In this pivotal role on our Manufacturing team you will work collaboratively with Supervisors and Materials Planning to determine staff requirements and prioritize work to ensure that customer deliveries are achieved, and production plans are effectively executed.

As a motivated and energetic leader, you have demonstrated solid leadership skills and hands-on capability. As the Group Leader, you will take the lead and give direction to a group of operators as well as organize and prioritize work schedules and assign tasks. You will be the first level of escalation to resolve production issues and ensure task is met. Must flexible and able to assist with other projects within the facility during down-time such as simple facility maintenance and general labor.

Description:
Operators are responsible for the unpacking of materials, prepping parts for assembly, dry battery
assembly, testing, filling, quality control and final assembly of batteries and systems. This position will
report directly to the Shift Supervisor.Must flexible and able to assist with other projects within the facility during down-time such as simple facility maintenance and general labor.

Essential Responsibilities:
The Assembly Lead is responsible for producing a required number of batteries and systems each day and week. Operators work independently under a supervisor(s) in different areas to meet the daily and weekly objectives and may be assigned to work in one or more of the following focuses:

Uncrate incoming components and store in waiting area
Visually inspect each incoming part for defects and cleanliness
Manually connect parts to test stations
Assemble components per supplied work instructions
Prepare modifications to parts where needed
Mark materials for identification and quality control
Prepare, load, monitor and unload workstations
Monitor transfer of electrolyte according to work instructions
Visually inspect each battery/system for defects and cleanliness
Align parts and connect according to supplied work instructions
Run tests to ensure battery is assembled correctly without leaks
Assemble electronic board components per supplied work instructions
Run test to ensure battery module is assembled correctly without faults
Will assist with leading and training team of 4-5 assemblers
Must flexible and able to assist with other projects within the facility during down-time such as simple facility maintenance and general labor projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of shop equipment (and other hand tools) and work
  • Ability to operate automated equipment
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of inspection tools such as such as micrometers and other shop inspection tools
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
Physical Demands & Abilities:
  • Must be able to lift to a maximum of 50 lbs. (occasionally)
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment
  • Operate within existing safety guidelines
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 year Technical Degree or Military Experience
  • Prior assembly or machinist experience
  • Must have reliable transportation
