Administrative Coordinator

Serves as primary contact for small to medium sized academic department representing its faculty and programs to university and external communitynbsp Acts as resource for students faculty staff and other constituentsnbsp Oversees department administration finances and operations coordinates faculty student and academic services and may supervise support staff students andor temporary employees

Acts as resource for students and faculty consults with and provides advice to Chair on administrative mattersnbsp Serves as liaison with student and business services departments

May supervise and provide work direction to department support staff students and temporary employees

Compiles data statistics and drafts regular and ad hoc reports for department

Coordinates with operations division on facilities maintenance office moves renovations and space planningnbsp Manages inventory and handles purchasing for departmentnbsp Oversees information technology needs and planning

Develops department budgets and projections monitors budgets approves expenses and reconciles financial statementsnbsp Approves and may prepare purchase orders travel and business expense requisitionsnbsp May assist local research administration with sponsored research proposals and budgets

Drafts edits andor publishes department newsletters bulletins and other communications

Coordinates search committee meetings activities and reportsnbsp Prepares and processes hiring promotion leave and separation paperwork for facultynbsp Works with International Center to assist with visa applications and visiting appointments

Prepares and works with registrar to implement course schedulesnbsp Provides guidance and support for students
